Objective Action

The aim of conduction the Annual Corporate Sustainability Report is the disclosure and communication of policy implementation of Loulis Mills followed by the key pillars of its strategy for CSR which is in direct connection and interaction with the business strategy.

The objective of the setting and implementation of a new code of conduct is to capture and compliance with the general principles and rules governing the commitment of management to employees and partners as well as the professional conduct of all Loulis Mills employees and partners to conduct the business. The Code defines the daily operation and behavior of Loulis Mills employees and also constitutes acceptable behavior rulebook among employees and to third parties. It applies to all employees regardless of rank of the Company.

 

Target Audience

The compilation and publication of the Annual Corporate Sustainability Report of Loulis Mills appeals to those the company after self-assessment and consultation has identified as stakeholders. These are the people and organizations that have a direct impact on the sustainable development, such as employees, customers, consumers, suppliers, shareholders, banks, and local communities in which it operates as well as the media. 

The Code of Ethics is addressed to all employees, partners and suppliers Louli Mills at each administrative level.

Description

The strategy and the Loulis Mills initiatives presented in the report, concerning basic pillars of Human Resources - Environment - Market and Society based on dialogue with all social partners and the analysis of the substantive issues. They are the on Sustainable Development approach, guided by a genuine commitment to CSR and willingness to further improve performance.

The issues discussed are: 

  • Degree of integration in key strategic planning of company social and environmental objectives
  • Analysis of Corporate Governance and Management to achieve the objectives
  • Commitment of the company to inform stakeholders about the social objectives and achieving environmental policies.
  • Evaluation of operational performance of the company and efficiency in the implementation of strategies set, whereas those beyond economic, characterized by social objectives. 

The sustainability report publicly on an annual basis, is for Loulis Mills enduring commitment. The strategy is reviewed annually by incorporating both the new data internally, and the market, society and the environment. 

The Code of Conduct, which in its present form was written in 2015, describes what expects and awaits the Management of Loulis Mills for all employees and partners at every level of management. It helps to exploit opportunities and new business development with justice and integrity spirit, guiding each employee and each partner. The demonstration of compliance is an integral part of the way in which it exercises its business and has the moral obligation to defend the progress and prosperity of both its own and its partners.

Impact on Society

The publication of best practices improves relations of Loulis Mills with stakeholders, establishes the prestigious name as a valuable intangible asset, positively motivates staff and improves access to new markets and business partnerships. The CSR reports are annually distributed to all the employees of Loulis Mills and to more than 7,000 stakeholders across Greece. The English version is sent to 200 partners abroad and posted on the GRI global database. Alongside widely it has been distributed the 24-page summary.

It had great and very positive response from the public and the media and expressed in numerous publications and letters.

The results and impact of the Code of Conduct is long and it is not measurable. It aims to ensure ethical and responsible operation and also in maintaining the reputation of Louli Mills due to the active and ethical presence for more than two centuries in the Greek economy and society.

The contents of the Corporate Sustainability Report is ensured by an external independent provider according to the latest guidelines GRI-G4 instructions. Also it follows the Greek Sustainability Code and complies the level A.

Workers Participation

For drafting the CSR Report a team was established with members from all the departments involved. Team's task is to collect the required information in the fields of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. Team members are the CSR Manager and the Managers of the following departments of Purchasing & Distribution, Production Sourpi Unit, Keratsini Unit, Sales of Professional Products, Sales of Consumer Products & Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Public Relations & Legal Service.

Benefits for Οrganization

Since 2013 Loulis Mills in trying to integrate the actions of a more structured and targeted environment created the CSR department. This led to the start of implementing annual CR report and in writing the Code of Conduct, which when applied correctly, lasting on long-term positive effects on all organisms and for Loulis Mills specifically. It is not directly measurable but immediately observable and discrete. They form the image of the company and expose it to the stakeholders. When the elements are communicated honestly, the company becomes reliable, maintains its reputation and be competitive in the global business environment. This is ensured by the implementation of international standards and guidelines and by obtaining external assurance. In practice, the application of these standards helps the company to operate in a more organized way, more focused and effective. Similarly, the participation of employees from all departments in the writing of the report directly and indirectly helps to better fulfillment the commitments of Loulis Mills.
