Objective Action

The goal of this action is to inform and raise awareness on Halcor’s administrative employees and executives in relation to CSR, transparency issues, anti-corruption and corporate governance.

 

Target Audience

All Halcor’s employees and in a group of Halcor's suppliers.

 

Duration

In 2010 the educational program began being applied to all Halcor’s executives and during the years 2013-2015 all employees participated in the training. In the near future, the company aims to apply the program to other suppliers and its subsidiaries as well.


Description

The employees’ training and development are the most important means of the continuous development of the professional level of both human resources and the company. The continuous improvement of the employees’ professional skills and knowledge, through their participation in various seminars run by Halcor (in cooperation with educational institutions) and their continuous update concerning the current affairs of the sector are a priority and permanent investment for the company. 

Halcor, which implements more and more actions for responsible operation, proceeded to plan and implement an important educational program about transparency, fight against corruption and corporate governance.

This educational program began in 2010 by training all Halcor’s executives, while the years 2012-2015 the company’s administrative employees received the same training. Meanwhile, in 2015 the Company proceeded to the organization and implementation of a specialized training course meant for a group of suppliers, seeking thereby to promote the principles of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability in the supply-chain.

Impact on Society

During 2015 Halcor completed a large educational program on transparency, combating corruption and corporate governance that started being implemented as of 2010. The program aimed to educate all executives and all administration employees of the Company on these issues. In 2010, specifically, we completed the training of all Halcor executives, while during the three years between 2012 and 2015 a total of 88 people were trained out of a total of 91 administrative employees. The Company in total has trained on issues of corporate governance, transparency and combating corruption, 96.7% of its administrative employees and 100% of its executives.

The company actively proves the importance it places on training and lifelong learning. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that in 2015 approximately 80% of the company’s employees (341 employees) participated in at least one training course and more than 2,660 training hours took place. In addition, 22 lifelong learning courses (postgraduate courses and foreign languages courses) have been offered since 2011.

The training course was developed and implemented in cooperation with external associates, while in the near future the company aims to apply the practice to one more group of suppliers as well as the subsidiaries companies.
