Security and health at the workplace is a basic priority of our corporate strategy and for this reason we take all necessary measures for avoiding work-related accidents. The purpose of this action is the creation and maintenance of a working environment without accidents providing the best possible protection for our people.
This action is addressed to all PAEGAE employees. Furthermore, our employees as members of the local societies we are active in, they disseminate this kind of culture and knowledge they receive on issues related to health and security in their environment and the people they acquaint with.
Health and safety at the working place is an ongoing action of PAEGAE while on annual basis we plan the cycle of activities to be done for supporting the abovementioned action.
Health and security of the workers is a constant priority for PAEGAE and it is recognized as an essential issue which carries significant weight within the materiality analysis. The innovative element of this action lies in the fact that we take this issue extremely seriously through a comprehensive approach that includes prevention measures, educational programs in health and security issues as well as security programs for all employees with the ETHNIKI Hellenic General Insurance Company.
More precisely, we improve and standardize procedures that are followed by our employees during the fulfillment of their duties while focusing on those sectors implying greater risk. Moreover, we offer a series of training programs that deal with security in the workplace. These programs involve updating and training of our workers in order that during their working hours they will treat security as a basic priority at personal and collective level. Finally, on October, 2015 the company completed the group assurance program (life, hospital care and accidents) with ETHNIKI Hellenic General Insurance Company for the total of its employees. This program offers also optional assurance for the dependants of the employees.
Having taken all necessary measures and attended the training programs on the issues of health and security, the employees of PAEGAE have managed to set serious work-related accidents and abstention days due to work-related illness equal to zero. Furthermore due to the fact that PAEGAE is a transport company, a part of the training programs focuses on secure driving. The additional benefit ensuing from the training of the employees that conduct transports in urban environment as well as in national road axis is driving behavior that sets security as a priority. Finally, through the group assurance programs that PAEGAE offers, it is possible for the employees to include their dependants in assurance programs.
The actions focusing on health and security are implemented mainly in the working environment of PAEGAE. However, there are certain cases such as the training programs on health and security which need specially adapted places (for example seminars for workers at height) which are realized in cooperation with expert partners at specially adapted places.
The creation and maintenance of a working environment that secures health and security is a collective procedure in which all the employees of the company participate. Furthermore, in view of reinforcing this action we cooperate with external partners who contribute in health and security through the specialized knowledge they offer through seminars.
The enthusiastic participation of the employees is the main factor for the successful outcome of this action.
