Objective Action

In WIND Hellas, we use the "WIND Hellas Code of Ethics", aiming to create the appropriate framework in accordance with the principles of good faith, business ethics and professional ethics, in order to offer all employees the opportunity to become aware of the rules, as well as the good practice and ethical principles that we have adopted. The WIND Hellas Code of Ethics is based on 5 interrelated pillars

Values: The Code is based on the company’s values, with particular emphasis on INTEGRITY and the quote "do the right thing regardless of cost"

Tone at the top: Continuous support in all its forms by the higher and senior management.

Ongoing debate: Issues related to the implementation or compliance with the Code are part of the meetings at departmental level; continuous training on general or specific issues

Freedom of choice: Introduction of hotlines for all employees, encouraging reports on unethical practices issues
Corporate culture: Establishment of a uniform corporate culture which shall make the Code part of our everyday behavior.

In order to further reinforce the message of INTEGRITY within the Company, a training programme entitled "Reinforcement of Integrity through Business Ethics" has been implemented.

Target Audience

All 977 WIND Hellas employees participated in the programme, while all the WIND stores owners throughout Greece were trained, too.

Duration

Six months with its integration in the annual training plan of compliance, and focus on strengthening the areas highlighted by the staff survey.A

Description

The training program entitled "Reinforcement of Integrity through Business Ethics" included:

  • Connection of business ethics with the WIND Values
  • Cases of moral dilemmas
  • Moral compromise factors
  • Ethics and Management
  • Ethics and Law

A specialized training has been organized on the prevention of fraud, especially for WIND store owners. Checkpoints, which have to be applied, were discussed and real examples of fraud, as well as the reasons which led to them, were presented. Two electronic lines of communication with the Internal Audit and Fraud/Revenue Assurance departments were created. Similar updates have taken place in the Sales Department. The Code of Ethics, the conduct expected of them, the report process and the tackling of corruption phenomena have been incorporated in the fixed training programme for franchise stores salesmen.

Impact on Society

As soon as the training programme was completed, an internal audit was conducted in order to determine the effectiveness of WIND Hellas “speak up” culture on issues of violation of violation of the Code of Ethics.  The survey was conducted online and was anonymous (in collaboration with an external organization). The survey resulted in designing an action plan for improving the reports procedure for unethical practices and tackling repeated phenomena in the Ethics-Communication-Culture axis. The survey results were presented and discussed among all the company's employees, both locally and in the aggregate  Conclusion: The Management of WIND Hellas takes all the appropriate measures in cases of unethical behavior. Only a rate of 4% say they disagree.

Initiative Location

Nationwide, in all WIND's premises in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and Heraklion and the owners of WIND stores throughout Greece.

Working with Organization

The program was entirely designed and implemented within the company, with the cooperation of the Internal Audit & Compliance departments, the Human Resources and with the full support of the Management Team.

Benefits for Οrganization

The respect for the values and principles that we have set as an organization is essential, both ethically and from a business point of view. As the environment in which we operate is becoming more and more complicated and is constantly changing, our company’s principles and values guide us in our daily behavior and support us to continue our course. The Code of Ethics is a roadmap that we adhere to, not only in form, but mainly in substance. Corporate Ethics involves a lot more than just trying to avoid the violation of any law. It mainly concerns the way we behave, both internally and externally. Anyone who has a direct relationship with WIND Hellas shall follow the rules and guiding axles deriving from the company’s core values and shaping behaviors we can be proud of. In WIND Hellas, we look forward to the active participation of all in order to create a responsible Corporate Culture developed in an environment of dignity, respect and above all INTEGRITY, where corporate responsibility is addressed to and concerns both our own people and society in general.
