Objective Action

This practice aims at developing the qualifications of the employees at all levels in order that they will be prepared and able to live up to the day-to-day expectations of the working environment as well as to the challenges of tomorrow. Furthermore, given the fact that the employees’ security demands a multidimensional approach, a substantial part of the training of the employees covers health and safety issues with the purpose of preventing any kind of accident in the working environment as well as at the wider area. Training is of paramount importance for PAEGAE since we aim at maintaining our workforce in the long run, developing and upgrading our employees and further developing their qualifications.

This action involves the employees of PAEGAE. 

 

Duration

This action is constant and continuous since it is implemented on a regular annual basis by PAEGAE and every year the planning of the thematic units to be used for the vocational training of the employees is decided according to the needs arising from the units and departments of the company.  


Description

The vocational and developmental programs include guidance and training of the employees on specialized skills either through seminars that are realized by specialized external agencies or by experienced internal employees of our company. PAEGAE innovates in the training of the employees by launching a holistic approach to the training and developmental procedure for its employees with different directions, providing its employees opportunities for development during their entire career. Beyond the established cycle of training programs that we include in the annual training program, we urge all our employees to continue their training and development during their entire career (lifelong learning). Our willingness to act accordingly is expressed in practice through the financial assistance up to 90% we offer to our employees for their participation in post-graduate and under-graduate programs of the Greek higher education institutions.  Furthermore, PAEGAE offers a series of vocational trainings which deal with security in the workplace. These programs combine theoretical knowledge with practical implementation in a way that the employees are trained to treat security in the workplace as a matter of high priority at a personal as well as at collective level. This pillar of training is of paramount importance for the workforce of PAEGAE as a whole. We place special emphasis to employees that work outdoors of our premises and at our storage facilities aiming at minimizing the risk of work-related accidents.

Impact on Society

This action is addressed to the workforce of the company. The results are important for the workforce as a whole since the abilities and qualifications of the employees are improved, the employees are informed and trained on the issues of management of behavior, health and safety and in this way they secure their employment in the company environment for the future. During the year 2015, the employees of PAEGAE in total have attended training programs of 756 hours which stand at 3,5 hours per employee for more than 15 thematic units in total. Furthermore, two employees of PAEGAE are assisted financially by 90% for attending under-graduate and post-graduate programs in higher education institutions of our country.
