Objective Action

The aim of the project WATER BRIDGES: We join our voices for Water! was the systematic and substantial information, education and awareness of citizens and public bodies responsible for water management, in order to gradually become active participants in decision making on fields of common interest  for water, as it is required at the relevant EU Framework Directive 2000/60.

At the same time, critical aspect of the project WATER BRIDGES program was the networking between agencies and citizens, the "bridging", ie, of communication between local water management bodies and civil society, between the water management bodies themselves, as well as between other local bodies involved in urban water management. The promotion of a new concept for the management of the urban and semi-urban water, of a new policy and culture, with  methodologies and tools, that  aim to enhance  the role, the responsible attitude and the active involvement of local stakeholders and informed citizens - users was the main philosophy of the project.
