THE CHILDREN'S ART GALLERY OF GREECE

ARCHIVAL COLLECTION OF GREEK CHILDREN'S PAINTINGS

For the first time in our country’s history, The Children's Art Gallery of Greece creates a complete collection of children's paintings, which consists of thousands of masterpieces made by children! The "Archival Collection of Greek Children's Paintings" is the core around which the programs and actions of the Children's Art Gallery of Greece have been developed, with the collection of authentic works of children's art and the creation of a unique collection of artistic childhood creation that is growing!

The creation and maintenance of the "Greek Children's Painting Collection" is a pioneering project of the Greek Children's Art Gallery, the main purpose of which is to act as a mechanism for collecting, recording, preserving and transferring childhood artistic creation in local and temporal continuity, organizing the historical memory and preserving precious material from extinction, preparing it for future generations.

Children and young people aged 3 to 18, educational institutions and schools in Greece, Cyprus and the schools of the Greek diaspora. 

2017 to 2020

A varied inspirational platform for children's art production. An open dialogue between archival practice and children's visual production, bringing to the fore the modern childhood thinking, the concerns and prospects of the new generation of our country, reinforcing the interpretation of the past, the deeper understanding of the present and the shaping of the future .

Collaboration with all the primary and secondary schools in Greece, Cyprus and the schools of the Greek diaspora internationally.

Teachers, tutors of art and educators of the greek primary and secondary schools on an international level.

- Provides the collection, preservation, recording, indexing, classification, digitization, and promotion of the Greek children's paintings.

- Collaborates with all relevant bodies to collect and rescue the archive material.

- It studies and promotes enrichment of the collection in collaboration with other relevant organizations.

- Participates in relevant research projects in collaboration with other scientific bodies.

- Promotes scientific research on children's art and organizes special conferences, workshops, lectures, etc.

- Cooperates with the school community by organizing events, visits, etc. which promote the educational process.

- Publishes publications that promote enrichment of the archive collection.

- Organizes the record of the archives at the headquarters of the organisation and other appropriate venues and their visibility for visitor approach.

- Organizes, in cooperation with the relevant bodies, events for the promotion of children's art with the responsibility for the transport, installation and placement of the exhibits as well as for the proper operation of all facilities

- Provides for the cataloging, classification, maintenance, preservation and computerization of the inventory of archive material and to ensure that special registers are kept for collection.

The organization, with the collection of works of art, acquires a world-class art collection, an invaluable asset for our country.
