Sustainable development lies at the heart of Mitsis Hotels and we continuously aim to minimise our environmental impact and protect the biodiversity of our destinations. In the context of our environmental programme ‘LIFE, our green project’, we set targets to minimise energy and water consumption, and organise a series of environmental initiatives, including beach cleanings and tree plantings, with the participation of our employees and guests. Our Greek-themed restaurants feature zero carbon footprint dishes, made with organic ingredients from local producers and zero waste in their preparation. We also collaborate with WWF Greece for the ‘Adopt a Beach’ and ‘Hotel Kitchen’ programmes, for the protection of coastal areas and the reduction of food waste, respectively. For our continued sustainability efforts, we are recognised with a series of awards and certifications for all our hotels, including Bike Friendly, Blue Flag, Green Key, ISO and Travelife Gold.

Our 3,500 employees participate in the initiative.

The initiative is implemented in our 5 unique destinations of Athens, Crete, Kamena Vourla, Kos and Rhodes.
