The COSCO SHIPPING Charity Foundation is funding actions of the Red Cross in Greece.

Τhe support of 2,180 children in low-income families, coming from economically disadvantaged families, facing the social exclusion and specifically the support of pupils aged 6 to 18 in Primary and Secondary Education, aiming at improving the children's individual and social skills, boosting their self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as developing cooperative spirit and teamwork.

Also, the increase of access of children and youth coming from underprivileged families and poor social environments to equal opportunities in education and recreational activities.

 

Children 6-16 and youth 17-18 years old, coming from poor families from the wider area of Piraeus and face the risk of extreme poverty and social exclusion.

The Hellenic Red Cross and the COSCO SHIPPING Charity Foundation are cooperating and implementing the "Children Included" program for the support of 2,180 children in low-income families, facing the social exclusion.

The purpose of this collaboration is to support pupils aged 6 to 18 in Primary and Secondary Education, aiming at improving the children's individual and social skills, boosting their self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as developing cooperative spirit and teamwork.

Specifically, the program concerns 80 scholarships pupils in the wider region of Piraeus and 30 educational and creative activities targeted at 2,100 primary and high school pupils in the neighboring municipalities of Piraeus and Athens as well, in collaboration with the school structures. The actions focus on innovation, sport, environment and culture and are proposed by the schools themselves. The selection is based on specific criteria that the proposals submitted must meet. The total cost of the programs amounts to € 500,000.

Piraeus, Perama, Keratsini, Drapetsona, Salamis and regions of Athens (Sepolia, Akademia Platonos, Kolonos). 

The "Children Included" program considered very successful and received a huge response, as the number of beneficiary students exceeded the initial target of 2180 students, reaching 4,148 beneficiary students.
