DIATROFI program to meet the food needs of students in schools of vulnerable groups


FEEDING STUDENTS  OF VULNERABLE GROUPS IN SCHOOLS, THUS SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE FACING PROBLEMS OF HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY


SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN REGIONS NOT ONLY OF ATTICA BUT ALSO IN THE REST OF GREECE
 


We have started supporting the Program since the 2015-2016 school season. Since then, we have continued to support the Program, as we did in the 2019-2020 school year, despite the difficulties presented by COVID-19. Our commitment to the programs-actions we have undertaken remains constant and we continue for 2020-2021.
 


GENESIS Pharma supports the NUTRITION Program of the Prolepsis Institute of Preventive, Environmental and Occupational Medicine, which provides support to thousands of students and their families who are experiencing hunger and food insecurity. With the contribution of the company, numerous meals are available every year (per school year). At the same time, with the matching fund method of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a major donor of the NUTRITION Program, the total number of meals is doubled, so that the students of the schools participating in the NUTRITION Program are also doubled.

Employees of our company have participated in actions in the schools that benefit from the Program, distributing meals to the children and interacting with them. They have also been informed about the Program supported by our company, for a number of years, while they have also tried meals, so they know exactly what we offer to the children participating in the program.
 


Schools of Attica and the rest of Greece. The selection of schools is based on the data collected by the Prolepsis Institute.
 


The data on the food insecurity in which many families live today is disarming. We cannot remain uninvolved in the face of such a big problem, which unfortunately affects young children. Prolepsis intervenes where there are the greatest needs with special responsibility, sensitivity and professionalism. For us this is very important, because we know that this partnership has a substantial effect.

Here are the figures for our participation in the program by year:

 

2015-16: 152 students and 9,194 meals

2016-17: 152 students and 9,170 meals

2017-18: 140 students and 9,443 meals

2018-19: 71 students and 8,303 meals

2019-20 (through March): 52 students and 4,154 meals
 


Our goal is to be where there is a need, to remain consistent in the actions we have already undertaken, but also to constantly increase our offer, in order to meet the growing needs of society.

We offer to our fellow human beings, we support the new generation. With this action, we strengthen our social footprint while at the same time strengthening the company's good reputation as a socially responsible company.
