Digital e-CMR bill of lading for freight transport accompanying documents

PTL, through its participation in the pilot program, aims to provide innovative services for Greece, which will contribute to reducing the use of paper (paperless logistics) and achieving modern and more efficient results. The company's goal, through this specific practice, is to contribute to the fight against tax evasion in our country.

All consumers targeted by the company, as well as companies active in the Supply Chain sector.

The pilot program was implemented in 2019-2020.

PTL's goal is, after developing a national regulatory framework for the implementation of the digital bill of lading in our country, to establish this specific practice in the services it provides, on a permanent level.

With the aim of strengthening sustainable development in our country as well as the modernization of companies active in the Supply Chain, PTL was among the first Greek companies to pilot the use of the digital bill of lading. The program was implemented within the framework of an EU-funded project, and our participation made Greece among the pioneers in the digital transformation of freight transport.

In addition to the obvious environmental benefits, the digital waybill is expected to improve and simplify logistics workflows, significantly reducing administrative costs and speeding up processes. It will enhance the transparency and security of freight transport as all data related to freight transport will be available in real time to all parties.

For the implementation of the initiative, the company collaborated with:

  1. The Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport
  2. The International Road Transport Organization (IRU)
  3. The Federation of Truck Drivers of Greece (OFAE)

The pilot program involved voluntary managers and PTL employees, who through workshops and staff training, have now acquired the required training and experience for the implementation of e-CRM practices.

Representatives of the following companies also participated: Nestle Hellas SA, Diakinisis SA, Med Frigo SA & Sarmed SA

The pilot program took place on a pan-European level with the participation of Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia & Greece.

PTL made test applications during the transport of goods from Vonitsa Etoloakarnania to Athens. The company's goal is to implement the e-CRM program in the entire range of its services, in its entire network in Western and the rest of Greece.
