IASO Group: Air pollution and greenhouse effect prevention

The aim is to comply with the environmental legislation and to continuously improve the environmental performance of each Group hospital and company, aspiring to protect the environment and achieve sustainability, while also saving financial resources due to the effective preventive management of the environmental impact from the activities of the Group hospitals and companies, and successfully avoiding environmental emergencies.

continuously

The IASO Group continuously aspires to monitor the air emissions of its facilities, ultimately aiming to reduce them, thus contributing to a decrease in air pollution and the further prevention of the greenhouse effect.

The Group facilities are equipped with boilers, steam generators and absorption chillers which run on natural gas for generating hot water, and heating and cooling its areas. As a fuel, natural gas is environmentally friendly, so air emissions are reduced compared to other fuel, which, in turn, decreases the environmental impact from air emissions. Regular preventive maintenance of all facilities is carried out and certified by licensed technicians, aiming at the excellent, safe and more efficient operation of the facilities.

For 2019, the greenhouse gas emissions were: IASO – 13,052 tons of CO2 and IASO Thessalias – 7,345 tons of CO2
