Description

The story of Ios Adventure AMKE begins in 2018.

That year we started clearing the hiking network of Ios with the contribution of the Athenian Mountaineering Association.

In the same year we held a sports event (mountain running) that took place on the trails of the island (https://iosadventure.gr/), with the aim of promoting them and raising awareness among the local community. Since then we have been holding the event on an annual basis, with a short break due to the pandemic.

We maintain the hiking network on a regular basis, by carrying out voluntary clearing events where local and foreign volunteers participate.

At the same time through the website https://iospaths.gr/paths-pna/, we promote the hiking network and invite visitors to explore the trails using free navigation.

We carry out regular free hikes open to the general public, in order to familiarise them with the hiking network and the history of Ios island.

In 2021 we published the bilingual book "Discovering Ios through its paths", which invites the reader to discover the island through the hiking network.
