MYTILINEOS at the Leadership level of the global CDP-Water Sustainable Development Initiative

The participation of MYTILINEOS in this initiative falls under the following strategic directions of Responsible Entrepreneurship of the company:

1. Further enhance environmental culture.

2. Take initiatives to attract investors seeking indicators of effective management of Responsible Entrepreneurship issues.

3. Undertaking initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint.

4. Strengthen the process of recognizing environmental impacts.

This module of the CDP initiative and the quantitative and qualitative indicators that accompany it, are designed to help investors integrate water management elements into their investment decisions. Leadership level includes companies that recognize the risks arising from the use of water and apply best practices for its proper management, inside and outside the scope of their activity. The improvement of MYTILINEOS in this area was, according to the results report of the CDP organization and the main reason for the evolution of its performance from the Management level (2016 performance) to the Leadership level (2017 performance)

Industrial facilities and power plants of the company

MYTILINEOS was one of the 6,317 companies that participated in the CDP in 2017 and the only one from Greece in the WATER section. The participation of MYTILINEOS in the global initiative CDP - WATER is voluntary and is carried out by submitting extensive data for the management of water resources from the Sectors of Metallurgy and Electricity. Overall, MYTILINEOS moved upwards in contrast to the fall recorded in the M.O. the performance of companies worldwide in both the energy and the wider industrial sector.

1. Enhancing the overall publicity of the company as well as its environmental profile through the publication of this initiative. (10 print publications and 43 online publications).

2. Strengthening the process of recognizing environmental impacts and implementing special water saving programs resulting in the overall reduction of water consumption in 2017 by 6.5% compared to 2016.
