Municipality of Kalamata
Operation of Children's Creative Employment Centers

Their goal is:

a) The harmonization of the family and professional life of the parents / guardians

b) The physical, emotional, mental and social development of children, through new pedagogical approaches and techniques, utilizing their interests, experiences and knowledge and creating ecological consciousness
  • Working / unemployed mothers / guardians wishing to enter the labor market
  • Children 5-12 years old (including Roma)
  • Disabled people of all ages

The Children's Creativity Centers operate from September 1 to July 31 of each year from 17.00 to 21.00 on weekdays, during the winter months, while during the summer months from June 20 to July 31, as well as during the Easter and Christmas holidays, they operate during in the morning, ie from 8.00 to 16.00 when the parents are at work.

The Creative Employment Centers for Children of the Municipality of Kalamata operate in a context that proposes the creative employment of children and the satisfaction of their basic right to quality free time. In this context, there are five Laboratories, namely:

A) Physical Education and Health

B) Environment and Science

C) Art and Culture

D) Informatics and Robotics

E) Philanthropy

Environmental Education Center, WWF, Local Health Unit (TOMY), Police, Fire Department, Municipal Police, Parents and Guardians Associations, Children and Adolescents Day Center for Autism of Messinia Prefecture, Hellenic Group of Diaso Municipality of Kalamata, Municipal Gallery, Laiki Library, KE FARIS of the Municipality of Kalamata, Educational Association of Kalamata, Military Museum, Municipal Conservatory, etc.

There is employee participation, in matters of educational planning, event planning, parent information, etc.

The Centers for Creative Employment of Children of the Municipality of Kalamata are housed in the building facilities of the Primary Schools: 1st, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 18th, 21st, Laikon, Asprochomatos, Thourias, Arfaron of the Municipality of Kalamata, while KDAPMEA is housed in Eastern Center of Kalamata.

Further external actions of KDAP are carried out in the city squares, in the port, in the swimming pool, in archeological sites, etc.

Beneficiaries (year 2017-2018): 326 children with placement value, 96 children without, over 200 children as guests. 50 People with disabilities, 16 Roma

Staff (year 2017-2018): 29 teaching staff and 11 support staff at the Children's Creative Employment Centers and 16 scientific and support staff at the Children's Creative Employment Centers for people with disabilities.

Outdoor activities (2017-2018): 63 outdoor activities with 225 group participations

Income:

392,352.95 euros as income of the Creative Employment Centers for Children

133,637.70 euros as income of the Centers for Creative Employment of Children for people with disabilities Further multiplier results through the strengthening of the equipment of the schools where the Creative Employment Centers for Children are housed, the strengthening of the local economy through the supplies at local and regional level and the employment of young mainly scientists (educational staff) and unemployed.
