The Municipality of Vyrona, particularly aware of what concerns the field of philanthropy, in collaboration with an active society of volunteers, shows the required interest by carrying out activities, workshops, experiential trainings, discussions/information, film screenings, etc.. At the same time , provides places for housing the animals (shelters, etc.), feeding, vaccinations, sterilizations, etc. medicines, treatment, etc. in cooperation with the volunteers of the Byron Philanthropic Union, the citizens, the Ministry of Education and other agencies. The specific program aims at the collection, care, treatment, hospitality and adoption of the strays of the Municipality of Byron. It also includes communication and information via radio and internet, screening of a film that has been distinguished for its animal welfare content, book presentation, numerous events and activities for the actions and goals of the municipality, with the aim of educating and raising awareness among citizens.
