At VARIO, we promote the values of recycling and the circular economy and in conjunction with World Handwashing Day, we launched/highlighted the initiative "Reduce Plastic - Increase Sanitation" as part of our broader message of creating a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for people, society and the environment. At the same time, as an organization of people, we make our love, time and products available to our fellow human beings who really need it, and at the same time we contribute to limiting the disposal of plastic in the environment, through an "original" device recycling.

Exclusively the youngest members of our society, the children, thereby (supporting) the improvement of the hygiene conditions of our less privileged fellow human beings.

VARIO is leading the effort to promote the circular economy by recycling or, more correctly, giving life to old devices (dispensers) that it removes or upgrades in the building facilities of its customers throughout Greece and which until now were discarded in waste and recycling bins. This is how a unique recycling of dispensers from customers' bathrooms has begun through the removal, repair and cleaning of devices that are removed or are of older technology. These functional devices are then available and installed free of charge by the company's technical department along with the supply of the corresponding consumables to NGOs, nursing homes, schools, etc. In this way, old devices are brought back to life thus reducing plastic waste in the environment and at the same time (supporting) the improvement of the hygiene conditions of our less privileged fellow human beings. In addition and to convey the value of hand washing, VARIO's "Hygiene Experts" visited the shelters of the Ark of the World in Piraeus and in Spring and the Hatzikyriakei Foundation of Piraeus, installed recycled and new devices, offered the necessary consumables for 12 months and they implemented experiential education... clean children's hands without germs! Together with the children and strictly observing the necessary measures due to the conditions, they thoroughly washed their hands for about 60'' using 1 dose of soap in foam, rinsed with water and then dried them sufficiently with 2 disposable hand towels. These are enough to achieve the desired hand hygiene, which is the first line of defense! The children learned in an experiential way how the desired hand hygiene can be achieved, as well as how they can make proper use of consumables to reduce waste and limit waste disposal in the environment. Today, more than ever, it is of utmost importance that children understand the importance of hand washing to protect themselves from possible infections and diseases, as well as the value of recycling and the circular economy.
