Single Sustainable Development Report

In June 2020, the first Unified Sustainable Development Report 2019, OTE Group, was published

The aim of the Report is:

To capture the way in which Sustainable Development is integrated into the Group's strategy and, by extension, into its operation

To meet the needs of all stakeholders, from the investor and a financial institution, to the sensitized customer and employee.

The Report is published entirely electronically, is interactive and emphasizes the reader's experience, with visualization of the important elements.

The OTE Group 2019 Unified Sustainable Development Report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2019 (unless otherwise indicated) and is addressed to all groups stakeholders of the OTE Group.

This is the first Unified Sustainable Development Report of the OTE Group, prepared in accordance with the principles of the International Consolidated Reporting Council (IIRC), which presents consolidated data for the Group. The financial data concern all the companies of the Group. The non-financial figures refer to the following companies which contribute approximately 99% of the Group's revenues.

• OTE, COSMOTE, GERMANOS, OTEGLOBE, OTE Academy and COSMOTE e-Value (all with headquarters in Greece),

• Telekom Romania Communications and Telekom Romania Mobile Communications (with headquarters offices in Romania)

 

The content of the Report is defined based on the following principles and guidelines.

• Publishing Guidelines Sustainability Reports (Sustainability Reporting Guidelines) of the GRI, GRI Standards.

• Principles of AccountAbility Standard AA1000 for Participation, Relevance, Responsiveness and Impact.

• Principles of the Universal Covenant of the U.N

• EGS Information Disclosure Guidelines Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX)

• Criteria of the Greek Sustainability Code, Tables for meeting the requirements of the above standards are provided in Annex

 

In addition, the companies took into account:

• The Group's vision, strategy and sustainability principles

• The results of the dialogue with the interested parties

• The most important Sustainable Development issues that emerged from the Materiality Analysis.

• Stakeholder feedback on the 2018 Sustainable Development Report on OTE Group companies. The Single Sustainability Report is subject to external assurance, which covers the Principles of the AA1000 Standard and specific company performance indicators OTE Group (see Independent Assurance Report).

The data contained in the Report comes from the recording systems of the OTE Group and includes but is not limited to: cumulative financial data regarding personnel, customer service, and summary data regarding regulatory matters. At the same time, they include data about environment, calculated according to internationally accepted methods and based on the data provided by the relevant companies' management. For the collection and presentation of the data, the GRI definitions and parameters were followed, as well as the internal guidelines. More details on the measurement techniques and how the figures are calculated are provided in the Report.

There are no significant restatements of information presented in previous accounts. The separate and consolidated financial statements have been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the interpretations issued by the IFRS Interpretations Committee, as approved by the European Union. OTE Group companies support the United Nations Global Compact, the largest voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in the world and follow the ten universal principles concerning the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and fight against corruption. The OTE Group 2019 Single Sustainable Development Report includes a detailed presentation of the priorities, activities, goals and results of the OTE Group companies, responding to all 21 criteria of the Advanced CoP.

The OTE Group, and specifically the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A. (hereinafter "OTE") and COSMOTE Mobile Telecommunications SA. (hereinafter "COSMOTE") commissioned KPMG Consultants Monoprosopi S.A. the overview of selected elements of the English version of the report entitled "2019 OTE Group Sustainable Development Single Report" (hereinafter "the Report") of the OTE Group for the period January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2019, in order to carry out the appropriate procedures for the limited scope assurance of its content.


For the creation and completion of the content of the Report, there was close cooperation and participation of more than 50 executives from all operational units.

The overall performance of the OTE Group is presented in full, through financial and non-financial information, from which the healthy development and the Group's contribution to the Sustainable Development of the Economy, Society and the Environment emerge.
