Municipality of Vyronas

The Municipality of Vyrona, on the occasion of the economic crisis, is creating the structures for the provision of basic goods (Social Grocery, Subsidy and Social Pharmacy), in cooperation with the Region of Attica, within the framework of the NSRF Regional Operational Program "Attica 2014-2020" and provides free Groceries, feeding and medicines to beneficiaries. The purpose of the operation of these Structures is the relief of the residents of the Municipality of Byron through their direct material and psychosocial support. The selection of the beneficiaries is made according to socio-economic criteria, by the Social Workers of the Structures, with the aim of providing assistance to vulnerable population groups. As it is therefore about Social Structures that support people, the main concern is not only the material coverage of needs, but also to contribute to the psychosocial Stabilization of the community.

Beneficiaries are: the homeless, the needy, the uninsured, the unemployed, people with disabilities and health problems, families (single parents and many children) and general households threatened or in a state of poverty and weakness.

Three (3) years (2017-2020) with possibility of extension.

As it has now been announced, the Municipality of Byron, due to the increasing social phenomena caused by the humanitarian crisis such as: social exclusion, unemployment, insecurity and difficulty in meeting basic needs, implemented in the context of its social policy the creation of an integrated Intervention Network: the Basic Provision Structures Agathon: Community Grocery, Subsidy and Community Pharmacy. These Structures operate under the auspices of the Municipality of Byron in collaboration with the Region of Attica, within the framework of the Regional Operational Program NSPA "Attica 2014-2020" and provide at least once a month free grocery items to beneficiaries of the Social Grocery, ready prepared food in on a daily basis to beneficiaries of the Subsidy Provision Structure as well as free medicines for beneficiaries of the Social Pharmacy.

The Structures for the Provision of Basic Goods: Social Grocery Provision of Sistiti operate under the auspices of the Municipality of Byron within the framework of the Regional Operational Program of Attica, NSRF 2014-2020.

Basic Goods Supply Structures employ specialized staff such as social workers, administrative staff, cooks, etc.

The continuation of the Structures is based exclusively on the support of the businesses and companies of the local society and not only, with the free provision of products, as they become the main suppliers of the Structures, since the coverage in products is not financed. It is also based on the social contribution of all citizens who have free goods and services.

The Structures operate under the auspices of the Municipality of Byron in collaboration with the Region of Attica, with the aim of providing material and psychosocial support to the beneficiaries.
