Based on ElvalHalcor's human-centered approach, its focus on social responsibility issues and its choice to be an organization open to learning, Elval (ElvalHalcor's aluminum rolling sector) designed the event Boost Your Career, We elVALUE Next Generation which was intended to make the people of the next generation of workers aware of the working reality in the Digital Age and to enhance their prospects of joining the labor market.
Participants were informed by personal invitation that they received, so that they feel and understand that this event is about them personally and is designed according to their own needs.
As part of the workshop, an experiential game was first implemented for the participants. This game was made with the aim of giving the participants the opportunity to get to know each other better, to strengthen the relationship and communication between them, while at the same time it contributed to raising the energy and positivity of the group.
The workshop was held at the Elval facilities, with the participation of instructors from the Alba Graduate Business School. The educational seminar that was implemented, entitled "Learning in the Digital Era & The Future of Work" focused on the following:
Discussion on the main dimensions concerning the future of work and the world as we know it today:
Technology and the future of work
Skills of the future workforce
Social implications of the ever-changing work environment
Review of the most popular learning models and compare them to a learning model more applicable in the digital age
Critical discussion and evaluation of specific strategies to improve learning according to a connected learning approach
Searching and understanding the concept of Learning Agility, i.e. the ability to learn/master new skills and develop new behavioral skills experientially in order to perform optimally under difficult and diverse conditions or even if faced with first time
Designing integrated approaches to our own learning that will perform optimally for our current learning structure, while attending to the opportunities and challenges of the Digital Age.
The duration was 3 hours and included presentation, discussion and exercises.
Immediately after the end of the workshop, the participants were met by the Production Manager of ElvalHalcor's aluminum rolling sector, who shared with them his experience at Elval, described the Business and urged them to adopt the mindset of agility in order to have a successful career path in the digital age.
At the end of the program, an electronic evaluation of both the workshop and the event as a whole was carried out, which had a very positive result. Upon completion of the training program, the event closed with a lunch, during which participants (students/seasonal workers) and organizers (Elval executives), had the opportunity to discuss everything presented during the workshop. We talked with the participants, listened to the children's concerns and guided them in whatever they needed.
