Description

The "smart" cities of the future

The Internet of Things is at the heart of a smart city with digital transformation applications that lead to a higher standard of living for citizens and at the same time facilitate public services to be more efficient. We envision cities where daily operation can be automated and new functions created such as: real-time traffic routing around congestion and also pollution control, identification of major system failures (water supply, lighting) and priority resolution, overall environmental monitoring of city, automated communication system for events and other individual actions.

Vodafone Giga Internet of Things

We develop technologies for our clients that enhance business competitiveness and create conditions strengthening innovation, development, competitiveness of the Greek economy, with parallel benefits for the environment.

Vodafone Fleet Control

IoT Fleet Control is an easy-to-use online vehicle management subscription service. The special device which is installed in the vehicle continuously records its footprint and transmits data through the Vodafone network, which is stored and presented to the customer in real time, with full reports and historical data on the movement, the route, the operation of the vehicle and other data, such as door opening/closing, fuel consumption, cargo temperature, driver identification. The Vodafone IoT Fleet Control service enables any company that owns company vehicles to improve the services provided to the end customer, reducing at the same time, the operational cost from the fuel consumption and the corresponding impact that its operation has on the environment, through:

• the use of statistical data for the more efficient use of vehicles and the reduction of routes,

• the optimization of the planning of the routes and the reduction of the kilometers traveled,

• monitoring the use of vehicles for better planning of preventive maintenance,

• the motivation of drivers in best driving practices.

Vodafone Temperature Control

The Vodafone IoT Temperature Control service is a comprehensive subscription service, with which the customer can control in real time the location and good operation of his company's refrigerators.

The service offers:

• optimization of the energy consumption of refrigerators,

• reducing the risk of theft/loss of refrigerators,

• monitoring the stocks of refrigerators,

• product quality guarantee and sales assurance,

• minimization of maintenance costs and idle time of refrigerators.

Thus, the subscriber of the service ensures the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the refrigerators, avoiding unnecessary costs and visits for maintenance, unnecessary energy consumption and corresponding emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Vodafone Smart HVAC

Smart HVAC service is one complete solution that offers to maintainers and unit manufacturers cooling and heating the ability to manage remotely and receive important notices for the units of which they have undertaken the maintenance of. With the Vodafone solution the maintainer can provides high quality services, reducing at the same time and its cost, as it maintains the complete picture of the operating status of cooling and heating units and receives important information related to location, temperature, power supply and humidity, achieving the maximum unit efficiency.

Smart Bins Management

The Vodafone Smart Bins Management solution consists of bin management sensors that monitor bin capacity, tilt and temperature to provide timely alerts. Thus, the authorities only empty the bins that are full, return the bins to an upright position or intervene in case of fire. In addition, the solution contributes to the planning of more efficient waste collection routes, even in remote areas. The device placed in the bins has sensors that combine ultrasonic technology to measure the level of waste, as well as sensors to detect fire and the bin falling/overturning.

Smart Parking

The Vodafone Smart Parking solution is based on IoT devices installed on the road surface, which continuously check the occupancy of parking spaces. The solution also includes parking cards where, thanks to them, the sensors support vehicle/driver identification to detect possible parking violations. For example, the administrator can supervise special places for disabled people and be informed about the violation if the place is occupied by a citizen who is not entitled to park in that particular spot. The service manager has access to all data, through the IoT platform, with the help of which he can monitor the use of parking spaces and plan more efficient routes for drivers.

Smart Waste Management

With the Smart Waste Management IoT service, the citizen or business receives a text message on the mobile phone when the municipal waste truck is approaching. In this way, the optimal management of the waste collection process is achieved, while at the same time reducing the time during which waste remains in the bin.

Smart City app

The Smart City app enables every Municipality to offer citizens a communication channel through which they can obtain multiple services. Thus, citizens receive personalized or specific city news, as well as mass updates on emergency issues. In addition, they can transact and request documents and the issuance of administrative acts. At the same time, the Municipality, freed from the need to create many different digital applications, can choose to add additional services to the citizen's application, such as available parking spaces and guidance to them, atmospheric measurements for the citizen's location, fault reporting about the street.

Smart Marina

With the Smart Marina IoT solution, specialized digital transformation solutions are provided for the modern marina, which achieve automation and increased productivity, through an integrated wireless system for measuring electricity and water consumption in the pillar. Thus, it allows both the marina managers and the owners, lessors or lessees of the boats to have an overview of what is happening, but also to carry out basic actions via mobile app.
