The extension and strengthening of actions in favor of beneficiaries of programs and members of vulnerable groups, of actions and good practices in the field of social care during the pandemic

Description

The following actions were implemented:
1. Extension of the Help at Home program
2. Delivery of food at home after a telephone appointment, for beneficiaries of the TEVA program
3. Establishment of infrastructure for the distribution of food (call center, vehicles, specialized staff, observance of safety measures)
4. Telepronation: Provision of devices (tele-pressure gauge with bluetooth interface and internet connection) for tele-monitoring of sugar and blood pressure values, without a visit to the treating physician
5. Telephone care: providing a set of "smart home" sensors, for lonely elderly people (traffic measurement, front door opening, temperature, an emergency call button for help). The system is automatically monitored via the internet, by the e-trikala Telephone Care Center.
6. Transportation of essential products (shopping, food) to people who could not move
7. An open telephone line of expression for the transport of essential products was created
8. An open telephone hotline was created for beneficiaries of KEA

Impact on Society

- More than 3000 people from Trikala benefited
- A feeling of safety and security was created during the first quarantine period
- The risk of infection with the virus for members of vulnerable groups is reduced
- Cooperation between services has improved
- The need to improve the infrastructure of the Municipality was documented
- New fields of action were created for the local authorities and their interventions in matters of social care
- The cooperation with individuals and companies was strengthened, within the framework of their Corporate Social Responsibility
- Infrastructure was created to deal with similar phenomena
