GEP with Learning Business by the side of students

GEP was founded in 2000 by specialists in Occupational Health and Safety growing today to the largest consultant in health and safety services in Greece. In its interest to provide high quality Occupational Health and Safety services to its Clients, GEP has established the most complete and specialized network of Occupational Doctors and Safety Officers with know-how and experience in all sectors of the economy and developed to a valuable business partner.



Objective Action

The aim of this Initiative is to connect the business with the educational community, through entrepreneurship & vocational guidance, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.

Through our online platform and with the assistance of Dr. Valias Tsopoki, Scientific Director of the Department of Health of GEP, we held a series of First Aid and information seminars for occupations related to safety at work, so that students are informed about health and safety issues and get to know professional prospects.

 

Target Audience

The seminars were held for the students of the Gymnasium and Lyceum of the Hellenic-German Education, of the Hellenic-French School of Piraeus Jeanne d’Arc as well as of the 1st General Lyceum of Koropi.

 

Duration

The action has been completed for the academic year 2020-2021, and is expected to continue in the next academic year.


Description

GEP, the largest company providing occupational health and safety services in Greece, collaborated with Learning Business, the widespread entrepreneurship & vocational guidance program in Greece, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. Through our online platform and with the assistance of Dr. Valias Tsopoki, Scientific Director of the Department of Health of GEP, we held a series of First Aid and information seminars for occupations related to safety at work, so that students become aware of health and safety issues, as well as get to know the prospects, academically and professionally, associated with this extremely important subject.

Impact on Society

The seminars in which GEP participated were held by the students of Gymnasium and Lyceum of the Hellenic-German Education, of the Hellenic-French School of Piraeus Jeanne d’Arc as well as of the 1st General Lyceum of Koropi. The comments of the teachers and the children were excellent and the participation of the students was great.

Initiative Location

The seminars, due to the restrictions on education imposed by the outbreak of the pandemic, were conducted online through the GEP training platform.


Working with Organization

D2 is a company of cultural and business activities, with emphasis on the connection of education with the business community and focus on the "culture" produced by large private organizations in the country through corporate social responsibility actions. Its activity, "Learning Business" concerns the connection of students and teachers of the secondary level (high school-lyceum) with the business community of the country.

Workers Participation

Dr. Valia Tsopoki, Scientific Director of Health of GEP, participated in this action by providing information and education to students on Health and Safety in Schools, First Aid education, but also analyzing Health and Safety professions, which will potentially give a new horizon to children to choose the direction that their academic and then professional life will take.
