With an aim to inform and to educate its visitors, the Museum organizes periodic exhibitions, scientific conferences, special guided visits to industrial facilities, mines and areas with geological interest, as well as specialized programs for all educational levels, while it also publishes books on subjects related to mineral resources and Mining.

The Museum was established in 1998 and the celebration activities for its twentieth anniversary were organized from April to June 2018.

  • On 9 June the celebration event for the 20th anniversary of the Museum with numerous friends and collaborators from Greece and abroad.

During its twenty years of operation, with over 10,000 visitors per year, MMM has been established as one of the most important tourist destinations on the island as well as an educational center for the community as a whole, through its special and targeted programs aimed at all educational levels.
