Objective Action

The realization of our commitment to contribute to the cultivation of prospects for the future of young people and all our actions can be summed up in two words:

YOUTH MATTERS

The central objective of this initiative is to empower young people with skills, aiming at their long-term employment in a framework of equal opportunities. So that we further support the sustainable development of societies and provide opportunities for quality education for all.

Youth Maters is not an initiative but a framework of initiatives, where each one has specialized goals addressed to a specific group of young people and is part of the achievement of the goals of the general Youth Maters framework, thus creating a range of goals that concern young people in Greece.

Target Audience

- Young people

Duration

We started the youth initiatives 30 years ago, three years ago we created the Youth Matters framework and we continue...

Description

If you don't prioritize young people, you can't evolve!

That is why we constantly try to be, in many different ways, on the side of young people. We enlist our experience and use our know-how to provide them with the most suitable supplies for their professional future.

Our commitment to being close to young people starts from a long time ago. Specifically, since the 80s, when we included, in our socially sensitive actions, special programs for their education, professional orientation and training.

We are, in fact, one of the first Greek companies to sign, in 2015, the European Pact for Youth. The mutual commitment between the European Union and the business community, which aims to strengthen the employability of young people.

We prioritize young people and enhancing their employability through education, training and work experience programs.

The innovative Youth Maters initiative framework is a comprehensive system of initiatives aimed at all levels of education from Kindergarten to Postgraduate education. It is dynamic and constantly enriched with new actions and collaborations such as Regeneration and the ReGeneration Academy for Digital Acceleration, Data Science Lab. , an innovative and modern skills acquisition/development program for young men and women who want to stay in Greece and claim their place in the labor market as it is shaping up in the digital age.

"YOUTH MATTERS" is based on three main and very important pillars.

1. Foundations

These are selected educational programs that form the foundations of knowledge, which is necessary to broaden the horizons of young people and help them plan their future. Programs that consistently follow the very important modern trend, based on which educational actions must be faithful to the spirit of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), i.e. the interaction of natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics.

- Seminars for Students of Best Groups

- "Future Leaders"

- Educational visits of Pupils and Students

- Educational Exhibitions

- Youth Entrepreneurship Association (YEN)

- Support Diplomatic Theses and Research Programs

2. Direction

It refers to programs that provide important resources for young people to choose their goals, their orientation and ultimately the direction they will follow in order to turn their dreams into reality in their lives.

- Graduate Student Step

- Career Days

- Professional Programming

- CV Writing Workshop

3. Experience

Certainly, this is the most valuable resource for young people. The experience allows them to develop their skills in practice and to have contact with the working environment.

Impact on Society

The Youth Matters framework of initiatives in addition to a framework of partnerships is a network of positive effects for young people as a whole with long-lasting results. For example:.

  • 51,000+ pupils and students participated/attended the educational activities
  • 8,800 students and young people benefited from the seminars and information events
  • 2,200 young people did their internship at Titan units in Greece
  • In the 1st ReGeneration cycle we had 24 participants, 95% absorbed in the market, 7 TITAN recruitments and another 6 recruitments from the 2nd cycle
  • Our company is one of the first companies that supported the Pact4Youth institution that was successfully completed at a pan-European level and gave the baton to a new initiative at a national level, now the "Gefyra" initiative

Initiative Location

In all areas where the Group operates in Greece, and especially in the large urban centers of Attica, Thessaloniki and Patras.

Working with Organization

The framework of Youth Matters initiatives to be implemented needs the active participation and cooperation with dozens of agencies at the national level and beyond. For example:

  • ReGeneration is a pioneering action of the Global Shapers Athens Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum and was presented in Greece in 2014. It was created with the aim of contributing to tackling both youth unemployment and the "brain drain" phenomenon, i.e. the trend of notable new graduates to go abroad to find jobs.
  • TITAN, in collaboration with ReGeneration and training partner Code.Hub, implements an innovative skills development "academy" aimed at young men and women with an interest in the field of data (data science).
  • Until today, the Company has signed 10 cooperation protocols with six departments of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Economics), with two departments of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) (Chemical Engineers, Mining Engineers-Metallurgists), with the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean and with the American College of Greece - Deree College. Through internships, the young people who participate in them can acquire further knowledge, technical experience and previous service.
  • 84 University institutions in Greece and Abroad
  • The "GEFYRA" (Greek Enterprises For Youth Reinforcement Acceleration) program was developed by the CSR Hellas Network utilizing the experience from its participation in the European Pact 4 Youth initiative.
  • BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is the organization of students studying technology in European universities and polytechnics, with more than 3,300 members in 33 countries.
  • Youth Entrepreneurship Association (SEN) - Junior Achievement Greece (JA), aimed at secondary education students of public and private schools from all over Greece. Since 2005, more than 35 staff members have volunteered their time and expertise in 28 schools.
  • TITAN welcomes students for paid internships from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). In addition, Titans gives the opportunity to children of employees, studying at universities or universities abroad, to be employed for a month in various centers of the Company's activity, gaining important knowledge and experience. The condition for participation is that they have completed at least the 1st year of their studies.
  • Future Leaders AMKE supports the new graduates and postgraduate students of Greek and foreign Universities to successfully join the labor market, as well as to become the leaders of the future.
  • Kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools
  • Museums such as the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology and the Heraklion Museum
  • Various bodies such as the National Observatory of Athens, Democritus and the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development
  • State bodies, public services and Ministries

Workers Participation

For the implementation of all the initiatives that participate in the Youth Matters framework, the voluntary participation of employees in all stages of their implementation is essential. As an example, we mention that more than 145 top executives of the TITAN Group took on the role of trainer, offering 300 days of volunteer work. Also, since 2005, more than 35 of our executives from various departments and activity centers have declared their "present", volunteering their time and experience, in 28 schools.
