Objective Action

"Nothing to Waste" is a pioneering circular economy program in the direction of creating zero waste. Businesses with a common vision of protecting the environment join forces with the aim of implementing sustainable solutions for the local community and the environment, promoting proper waste management and giving priority to prevention, the adoption of sustainable practices and habits, reuse and recycling.

The aim of the program is to contribute, through the effective synergy of private sector businesses, and to highlight sustainable solutions at the local community level. It aspires to be an exemplary practice and to expand with the participation of other businesses active in the greater area of Thessaloniki.

 

Target Audience

Our commitment to the principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility is not limited to compliance, but is a voluntary mission to positively impact the world around us. We expect this initiative to have long-term positive effects involving our employees, shareholders, local communities, customers and suppliers.

Description

The project of cooperation between enterprises scientifically supervised by a non-profit environmental organization is implemented for the first time in Greece. It started as an initiative of the TITAN Efkarpia factory, it was designed together with NoWaste21, with the participation of 24 businesses (and their 500+ employees), taking shape as an innovative business circular economy program with a shared vision to highlight sustainable solutions in the local community .


The program concerns circular economy actions focused on prevention, education and separate collection of 6 streams of recyclable materials:

1. Red bin - PET Plastic Bottles (water, juice, etc.)
2. Blue bin - Metal Packaging, other Plastic & Laminated packaging (Tetrapak type)
3. Yellow bin - Paper - Cardboard
4. Green bin - Electrical and Electronic Devices
5. AFIS bin - Domestic Batteries
6. Gray bin - Household Frying Oils

Impact on Society

TITAN is committed to the principles of the circular economy, which govern the specific standard and promote the minimization of waste, the reuse, recycling or recovery of materials and energy, but also the design of products that throughout their life cycle will contribute to saving natural resources, reducing CO₂ emissions and efficient waste management.

Workers Participation

500+ employees of partner companies participate in the program. Also, through the program, participating employees were trained in waste prevention, circular economy as a new model of natural resource utilization, they were informed about the benefits and highlighting of individual responsibility towards the environment and the preservation of natural resources for future generations.
