- Flagship and multi-awarded projects that change the data in agricultural production, water supply and the environment such as the re-creation of Lake Karlas, and the new projects to support the operation of the lake: the extension of the irrigation network by 26 kilometers with secured funding of 16 million euros in to spread over an additional 26,000 hectares of crops in the areas of Stefanovikei and Rizomylos and the maintenance of the innovative electro-mechanical equipment of the lake (2.4 million euros) which ensures the orderly and contrary operation of the project.
-Large and smaller infrastructure projects such as Reservoirs, Reservoirs and Dams (Kastri, Glavki Xirias, Litheos, Gyrtoni Mavromati), 22 new land improvement projects with a budget of up to 2.2 million euros each, such as the anastomosis of the springs in Vrysia Farsala, undergrounding of irrigation networks over 500 kilometers long, deactivation of irrigation wells and installation of inverter systems to save water and energy.

The Region of Thessaly was awarded for the water supply project of the eastern side of Karditsa Prefecture from Lake Smokovos, which covers the water requirements of 55,000 residents in 42 villages of the Municipalities of Karditsa, Sofadon and Palamas, the water works in the Kileler Larissa Municipality. of the dam in Mavromati Magnesia, from which 15,000 permanent residents and vacationers of the Sourpi and Pteleos municipalities benefit. - The Region of Thessaly claims the completion of the unfinished projects of Achelou, which is the largest green deal project in Greece and one of the largest in Europe. "Acheloos is a national project, not a Thessalian one," emphasized the Regional Governor. It is a project of responsibility towards the next generations, a life project with added value and wealth for the whole country, a project that benefits everyone and does not harm anyone. The two Hydroelectric Plants in Mesochora and Sykia ensure the production of cheap electricity in a completely ecological, "green" way, especially in times of crisis like the one we are experiencing today, and they contribute decisively to the energy autonomy of the country. Acheloos offers a safety water reserve in cases of extreme drought conditions, ecological restoration in areas with problematic and depleted underground aquifers, tackles climate change, prevents the desertification of the Thessalian plain, creates a privileged area for investments in the primary and secondary sectors, contributes to the water supply cities and settlements with clean, quality water. Combined with the rest of the dams that have been launched and claimed by the Region - Mouzaki, Titanou, Neochoritis Pyli, Agioneri Elassona -, the project of Achelou ensures the continuation of life and production, ensures the future of Thessaly and the following generations. Major projects, such as the one in which 1.2 billion euros have been invested in present values, are built to be completed and to contribute to society, the economy, the environment, not to be destroyed.
