Our long history is characterised by a series of investments in infrastructure and technological equipment. The first robotic sardine production line, the mechanised production line for tuna salad, squid and octopus with a polygonal machine, the great flexibility in the packaging of finished products, are just a few examples of our commitment to development and efficiency.



Objective Action

KONVA’s primary concern is the respect for humans and its employees. Thus, our company applies the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) Code of Conduct to ensure continuous improvement of working conditions.

Description

Our company agrees to respect the following labor principles set out in the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI):

 

1. The rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining

2. Equal opportunities and no discrimination against workers

3. Fair remuneration

4. Decent working hours

5. Ensure a healthy and safe working environment eliminating the risk of work

6. Persons under the legal working age shall not be employed

7. Special protection for young workers

8. Employment of workers on the basis of documented contracts according to the law

9. Our company does not engage in any form of forced labour

10. Our company takes all the necessary measures to protect the environment
11. No act of corruption, extortion or bribery is tolerated, pursuant to business ethics policy

 

To better comply with the Code of Conduct, the company has developed

1. procedures for informing employees about their rights and obligations,
2. a system of communication between employees and the administration on any matter (complaint-suggestion),
3. a procedure of influencing the entire supply chain.

Working with Organization


The collaboration started with the BSCI organisation that has created the codes of conduct and the know-how for the continuous improvement of work. An evaluation of our action is performed every 2 years by the independent company TÜV that certifies our compliance with the codes of conduct.

Workers Participation


Through interviews (random selection by the independent company TÜV), employees are asked to answer questions regarding their satisfaction in the work environment, the communication they have with the management and their superiors, the payment of salary and overtime wages, etc.
