H.AC.O is focused to assist Greece’s Administration in governmental - regional and local level, to implement anti-corruption policies and promoting transparency and accountability, in order to ultimately secure the sustainable development of the country.
H.AC.O is negotiating with a number of Municipalities in order to introduce anticorruption policies in their structures. The proposed upgrade will be ensured by putting on place specific codes and regulations, in accordance with the good international practice. Codes of ethics and integrity, provisionary systems to trace corruption – fraud in procurement – bribery – money laundering & conflict of interests, general guidelines for the effectiveness of risk management & analysis , specific EU regulations on protecting the financial interests of the Union mainly in the area of structural funds, regulations in order to prevent anti form of discrimination and all forms of retaliatory practices in workplace and ethics in sports have a detrimental impact in the operation of any Local Government Organization when duly implemented.

The Hellenic Anti-Corruption Organization (H.AC.O) is an independent non-profit civil society organization, which was registered on October 25, 2016. H.AC.O is founded under a solid international legal framework by virtue of articles 5, 6 and 13 of United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), the Council’s of Europe Conventions against Corruption (GRECO), the supremacy of the EU Law over national laws, the Convention for the protection of the European Financial Interests, the international covenants on the protection of human rights, and it is in fully agreement with the relevant provisions of the Greece’s Constitution. Moreover, H.AC.O has joined UN Global Compact and is committed to promote its Ten Principles with respect to human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Furthermore, H.AC.O has become an affiliated member of the «Anti-Bribery Academy International», thus also bearing the name «Anti-Bribery Academy Hellas».
Based on the aforementioned powerful legal framework and the capacities of its team, H.AC.O is focused to assist Greece’s Administration in governmental - regional and local level, to implement anti-corruption policies and promoting transparency and accountability, in order to ultimately secure the sustainable development of the country.
On this regard, in the previous months: a) H.AC.O drafted a very innovative legislative framework on Whistleblower Protection in Greece, after attending the OECD’s working groups on strengthening Greece’s action plan to fight corruption. b) Since December 2016, H.AC.O has placed into operation an online facility for receiving and investigating corruption complaints in a safe and secure environment http://www.hellenicanticorruption.org/report-form/
c) H.AC.O elaborated a Smart Park Project as a pilot solution to crises stricken Greece
d) H.AC.O has an ongoing collaboration with the Greece’s Association of Medical Laboratories Technologists, concerning the safeguarding of their labor and professional rights.
