Objective Action

MSD campaign for preventing HPV-related cervical cancer and raising awareness about HPV vaccination.

Campaign Title: Today, we are vaccinating our girls. (from 11 years old). We are ending HPV-related cervical cancer.

We leverage  the bold and emotional message “#vazoume_telos!” for the awareness campaign on HPV vaccination, which is closely related to cervical cancer and other indications.

We create a women’s movement which will fight for future women generations, for one really important objective. Cervical cancer not to be a threat for women, anymore! Our goal is not to address to mothers the chances there are for their daughters to be diagnosed with HPV, but to inspire women and raise their spirit against something bigger, Cervical Cancer. A type of cancer that women can battle with, just by vaccinating their girls against HPV.

We invite all women and mainly mothers to join our mission, by vaccinating their girls from the age of 11 and protecting them against HPV virus and in that way contributing to their fight against cervical cancer.

MSD Campaign is a collaboration between the Pediatricians’ Greek College, HPV Society, and Patient Advocacy OEKK Agkaliazo. Moreover, the website’s https://hpvirus.gr/ objective is to responsibly inform the user regarding HPV prevention issues, HPV Epidemiology & HPV vaccination.

Vaccination campaign for Herpes zoster

Campaign Title: “Every moment of life is important. Don’t miss it before you get the chance to appreciate it!”

Herpes zoster is an extremely painful disease affecting the nervous system and the skin area where nerve endings are found. It is  actually caused by the same virus as chickenpox. When the chickenpox recedes, the virus does not leave the body, instead it remains somewhere within the nervous system in viral latency and can reactivate at any point during someone’s lifetime, causing Herpes zoster. People over 50 years more than double their risk for Herpes zoster, due to the gradual immune system attenuation, which increases with the age. 1 out of  4 people will suffer from Herpes Zoster, at some point in their life.  Herpes Zoster is not just a rash. The majority of people suffer from burning and acute pain in the rash area, while some people experience chronic herpetic neuralgia which can last from months to even years, severely diminishing their quality of life.

We can prevent Herpes zoster by vaccination. In Greece, Herpes zoster vaccination is a part of the Ministry’s of Health National Vaccine Program and according to its respective guidelines Herpes zoster vaccine is recommended and medicated free of charge to people from 60-75.

The vaccination campaign against herpes zoster virus aims to inform the public about:

- the virus and associated complications,

- the benefits of vaccination against herpes zoster, following the guidelines of the National Vaccine Program

The campaign's message intends to alert the public to the disease, as well as the possibility of prevention through vaccination, as recommended in the National Vaccine Program.

Target Audience

General public-People 60-75 years to whom Herpes zoster vaccination is recommended and their health care professionals, as well.

Description

Vaccination Campaign for Herpes Zoster

MSD Campaign for the value of vaccination regarding Herpes Zoster prevention “went live” in order to remind people the importance of protection against a disease able to diminish the patient’s quality of life. The campaign’s core message was : “Every moment of life is important. Don’t miss it before you get the chance to appreciate it!”. It’s main characters were representing a “next door couple”. More specifically, the really well known Greek TV couple from “Mourmoura series” gets the chance to explain the importance and value of everyday moments spent with our loved ones.

The vaccination campaign for Herpes zoster virus is “based” on website https://erpiszostir.gr/, where the visitor can obtain information on every aspect of the disease, as well as it’s prevention and be reasonably informed about the cause, frequency, complications of the virus and of course more details regarding vaccination against the disease.

The campaigns were communicated with the below channels:

• TV spots (only for herpes zoster and hpv)

• Radio spots

Social Media Posts (Facebook,instagram,youtube)

• Insertions in the press

• Insertions in the electronic / digital press (banners)

Inside pharmacies /incorporation of TV spot on pharmacy screens
Inside private clinics& diagnostic centers/ incorporation of TV spot on screens
