The Municipality of Hellinikon - Argyroupoli is a municipality in the region of Attica. It has a population of 51,330 inhabitants, an area of 15.7 sq. km. and is the 62nd largest municipality in Greece. The City Hall is located at L. Cyprus 68 in Argyroupoli.

The Kindergartens of the Municipality of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli host children in the most important stages of their development every day. They are the first steps of education and socialization at such a sensitive age for their smooth subsequent development. Through the training program followed by the teaching staff together with the children, they learn to trust themselves and the team by participating in a multitude of activities.

Two months
The innovative educational activity of creating a CD entitled "The Journey" in children's poems set to music by Antonis Samarakis, gives children the possibility of multiple participations through which they will learn how to create music, record, perform and produce from an artistic creation to material CD audio player. It is an exciting journey into the world of art, culture and technology.
Through these original actions, the thinking, judgement, observation and skills of young children are cultivated, while at the same time their cognitive circle is expanded. Music soothes, calms, pleases. It develops the creative mood, imagination and ingenuity of preschool children, who through the various musical games, singing, dancing, listening to music, orchestrating different songs, recognizing sounds, practice not only mental , their emotional and mental development, but also their knowledge. They thus develop elements of their personality which then help them develop into mature and cultured individuals.
Antonis Samarakis, who wrote these poems when he was a teenager and lived next to the Chalandriou Youth Center, they were set to music by the composer Giorgos Voukanos, structured for Orchestra, Children's Choir, Soloists and Narrators, with artistic orchestrations. Some of these songs were presented for the first time in 2007 at the Athens Concert Hall by Vassilis Lekkas while they were recorded for the first time and will be presented with the cooperation of the Municipality of Ellinikos-Argyroupolis with the aim of involving the kindergartens in this production as well as its Choir Municipal Conservatory of Argyroupoli "Georgios Michalakeas".
The creation of the CD was presented at an event that took place in the conference room of our Municipality "Mikis Theodorakis". The Children's Choir of the "Georgios Michalakeas" Municipal Conservatory participated in the event, as well as the children (pre-nursery class) of the Kindergartens of the Municipality of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli.

An important role was played by all the employees at the Children's Centers of our Municipality, where with their methodicality, dedication and enthusiasm for our little friends, they managed to contribute creatively to the implementation of the project in question.
