Paper - Saving projects aimed at reducing paper consumption and use. The actions concern employees, partners and customers of our company. Specifically:

Internal use: a) centrally regulated double-sided printing on all computers and ability to scan documents with accompanying recycling program (recycling bins on each printer on each floor of each building), b) internal website that manages documents electronically (no printing at any stage), c) processes modified to ensure no printing, such as electronic payroll, e-bill for all employees.

Stores - Partners - Suppliers: a) processes modification to avoid printing (e.g. no printing for specific documents previously communicated in hard-copy formats for shops, abolition of use of printed material regarding the Company's procurement procedures and the use and exchange of electronic documents where possible, electronic invoice management), b) store printer models changed so as to print smaller surface for specific receipts, c) use of digital signature.

Subscribers: a) provision of e-bill / e-services to subscribers for easy, fast, secure and paperless account management (billing and other sefvices) from any device, and associated actions to promote use of the platform, b) new digital store. New WIND stores offer a unique new experience of technology and service to consumers, and better environmental profile. Fully integrating the potential of digital technology and eliminating the use of paper for promotional purposes and advertising. Through interactive touch screens and special software, the visitor explores and personalises his/her options for mobile, fixed and Internet services in every possible combination, without the need to refer to printed materials, and at the same time the use of printed posters are abolished to a great extend.

Impact on Society

The paper reduction, observed during the first year of application of the double-sided printing project, reached 600,000 pages or the equivalent of 1,500 Kg.
Using our internal website and online circulation of the 7 most frequently used forms, 60,000 - 70,000 sheets of paper are saved approximately per year, the equivalent of approximately 300 kg.
The modification of various working procedures concerning either the retail chain or offices saved tens of thousands of pages annually, weighing over 10 tonnes (9.5 tons are generated by changing a single process) every year.
The use of the e-bill service by our customers saved at least 16 tons of paper in 2013.
Our new digital store represents another important opportunity to reduce the (approximately) 500 tons of paper used for printed promotional material (brochures, posters etc.). The project is in progress.
