The action was completed within a year. However, there is continuous upgrading and updating of services, in order to provide effective and complete protection of the green lung of Hymettos.

The mobilization of citizens and their involvement through the Volunteer Corps helps and strengthens participation and the feeling of common responsibility and joint action for a purpose.

The organized body of Volunteers of the Municipality of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli is well trained and properly equipped to be able not only to protect but also to intervene promptly and effectively in any emergency situation that arises.
The Voluntary Forest Protection and Firefighting Team of the Municipality of Ellinikos Argyroupoli was born out of necessity, after the devastating fire in Ymittos on July 17, 2015.
With a willingness to selflessly offer to protect the environment and Public Property, dozens of volunteers of all ages responded to the call to protect our mountain.
They operate under the auspices of the Municipality of Ellinikos Argyroupoli, are included in the planning and actions of the Office of Civil Protection and are in good cooperation with the 8th Fire Station and the Volunteer Groups of the neighboring Municipalities. They are also included in the Volunteer Group Registry of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.
