Over the last three years, the Municipality of Glyfada has implemented a series of innovative digital services with the aim of improving its services to citizens, but also upgrading its internal operations.
In particular, in 2014 it implemented for the first time a modern system of electronic receipt and management of citizens' requests, FixMyCity, with the simultaneous establishment and staffing of the telephone support line, the five-digit number 15464.
In 2016, the Municipality took the next step, developing three more new applications: the marina management application (MarinaWatch), the cemetery management application (CemetaryWatch) and the service system of the store office of health interest (StoreManager). These applications came to solve significant and chronic problems of internal organization and management of the respective services, while they provided the opportunity for a detailed and of course up-to-date recording of the current situation in the four basins of the marina, in the cemetery and in the register of stores of health interest.
At the beginning of 2017, another application was designed and implemented, that of submitting and managing orders and repairs in primary and secondary school units, FixMySchool. The application in question, which is a pan-Hellenic original, came to provide a solution to the very important issue of managing school requests, with a simultaneous definition of roles and responsibilities for all the agencies involved.
The most important of all is the fact that all the above applications worked and work in a single online environment, ensuring continuity between them (e.g. a user such as the technical service who participates in more than one system, enters a platform using the same code), as well as their interoperability with third-party systems (e.g. the Municipality's Financial Management system through WebServices).
At the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, the expansion of the existing platform was successfully carried out with the development of another eleven (11) new applications. The new IntelligentCity platform (after its extension) acts as a toolbox with Single Sign On (SSO) authentication for its sixteen (16) applications. As part of the installation of the platform, all old data and user data were migrated and all the points of interest of all applications were updated. In addition, interoperability with the financial management system and electronic protocol was ensured. Finally, adaptation to the new personal data protection regulation (GDPR - EU679/2016) was ensured
The provision of the services is multi-channel and takes place both through a central web portal and through an application for mobile devices (App), which is available free of charge for the two widely used operating systems: Android through GooglePlay and iOS through AppStore. All the old and new applications are integrated in one App and in a single environment. Each user, depending on their access capabilities and role, has the right to access the respective services through the same App.
The central management system of the platform has all applications (old and new) installed in one environment, while it has a complete and detailed dashboard with statistics and BI (Business Intelligence) data, as a result of which it is possible to produce quality data that helps in making decisions regarding the operation of the municipality's services.
The eleven new applications of the IntelligentCity platform are as follows:
• Application for issuing digital certificates (CityCertify)
• Interest route management application (CityRoutes)
• Cultural and historical inventory management application (CultureInventory)
• DisabledWays route management application
• Bikeway presentation application (BikeWays)
• Outdoor trade points management application (IncomeAssets)
• Tourist product management application (TouristGuide)
• "Life in Glyfada" management application (MyCityLife)
• News, events and current affairs application (CityEvents)
• Application for monitoring funded programs and managing implemented actions (MyEspa)
• Dynamic applications leveraging the existing point of interest management application (CityPoints) and the new route management application (CityRoutes)
