Objective Action

In response to the Greek labor market, where youth unemployment is nearly 52%, and wishing to support the young generations, Coca-Cola is supporting ReGeneration – an innovative, comprehensive program offering professional and personal development and paid internships.

The program aims to:

  • meet market demand for high-quality human resources
  • offer substantial work experience to young people in Greece in their first career steps and thus help reduce the so-called ‘brain drain’ (the emigration of talented young people due to the lack of domestic opportunities) and tackle youth unemployment
  • bridge the gap between the skills needed and sought by businesses and the qualifications of young people when starting out.

Target Audience

The program is targeted at young people aged up to 29, who are graduates of Greek or foreign tertiary education establishments (Universities/ Technological Educational Institutes / Colleges) of all disciplines, with or without postgraduate qualifications.

It is also targeted at companies wishing to invest in high-potential young people by including them in their workforce, from multinationals and large Greek companies to SMEs and start-ups.

Duration

First launched in 2012, the ReGeneration program has already successfully completed 4 internship cycles, with more to come.

Description

ReGeneration is an innovative internship program for young people aged up to 29. It combines professional and personal development, through specialized training and mentoring provided by established Greek professionals, with work experience gained by means of 6-month paid internships with some of the largest Greek and foreign multinational companies.

More specifically, ReGeneration comprises the following:

  • Intensive, 80-hour practical training (personal development & soft skills).
  • A six-month paid internship (the companies pay interns a gross monthly of €750 and also pay the statutory employer’s contributions).
  • A thorough and reliable selection process for new graduates, who can easily and quickly submit their applications on the program's website (CV Screening, Game-based Assessment, Assessment Centre).
  • Mentoring by established professionals from the Greek business community.
  • Volunteer work in Greek NGOs, allowing participants to contribute to society.

More specifically, in the 4 years for which the program has been running:

  • Over 73 Greek and multinational companies have embraced the program and more than 230 young people have successfully completed their internships.
  • 80% of program participants have had their contracts extended beyond the initial internship period.
  • The interns have attended over 18,000 hours of targeted training.
  • 8,000 hours of social work have been offered by participants, through the program's partnership with 6 NGOs.
  • 130 organizations, embassies, academic and business entities have actively embraced the program.

Benefits for Οrganization
