Development of a highly innovative product in response to market’s needs for aluminum composite panels with flame retardant core for exterior and interior surfaces. The target was to produce the core from internal production process material by mixing minerals, aiming to optimize the product mix, increase productivity and improve material behaviour in fire conditions, so as to create a fully recyclable composite panel, not only during production process steps but at the end of its life cycle as well.

The Etalbond FR aluminium composite panels are produced and traded by ELVAL COLOUR, a 100% ELVAL’s subsidiary, that during the last years dominates the market of architectural materials for inside and outside surfaces offering multiple advantages compared to traditional materials. They are characterized by flame retardant attributes (according to EN 13501-1 class B), high flatness and smooth surface, large dimensions so to achieve fewer joints and low weight. The easy to clean non-porous surfaces of Etalbond FR, the non- absorption properties in water vapor, moisture and dust conditions, the low weight and the highly corrosion behaviour, make Etalbond FR the suitable material for making false ceilings and linings in all types of buildings, from imposing architectural applications up to sanitation buildings or even industrial plants. The Etalbond FR is the product selected for external facades and indoor coverage of public buildings, because it is characterized by its unique attribute to protect against the spread of fire in case of fire emergencies, thanks to the composition of its flame retardant core. It is available in a wide variety of colours and textures, so as to be able to respond to modern aesthetics besides from protecting the buildings. The easy and fast cutting and processing of Etalbond FR over traditional building facades, makes it a unique material that implements modern architectural construction principles and depicts the overall building architectural concept in the best possible way. Etalbond FR is 100% recyclable with minimal environmental footprint. Furthermore, it has gained technical approval in many countries such as France, England, Austria, Ukraine etc. ELVAL COLOUR has implemented a series of training courses at its premises, aiming to certify the installation and give information about the technical specifications.
The Etalbond FR aluminium composite panels have a lot of advantages over the traditional façade materials with respective benefits. They are fire retardant and have low fumes or parts emissions during combustion, therefore providing great safety in case of fire. The sheets are also characterized by very good flatness and smooth surface, large dimensions to achieve fewer joints and low weight compared to other construction materials. The material is classified in class B, S1 according to EN 13501-1. Etalbond FR has cleanable non-porous surfaces, does not absorb water vapor, humidity and dust and it is also light weighed and non-corrosive. The above qualities constitute Etalbond FR the most appropriate material for false ceiling and internal construction parts in all types of buildings from imposing architectural applications up to sanitation buildings or even industrial plants.
