Our company, with the aim of supporting its employees in matters of Health and Safety both for themselves and their families, has established the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors M.J. MAILLIS SINGLE MEMBER S.A.
The program is addressed to the company's employees, their families and the local community when the need arises.

Our Company has established the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors M.J. MAILLIS SINGLE MEMBER S.A. and its members are made up of both the company's staff (production and offices) and the Management team.
A great effort has been made to inform our employees about the importance of voluntary blood donation and also about the value of the blood offered to patients, not only for saving life, but also for providing help to our fellow human beings, to live a longer and more productive life.
The staff of our company has been informed that voluntary blood donors, according to the World Health Organization, are the safest category of blood donors, compared to replacement donors or paid donors, reducing the possibility of transmitting diseases through blood from 7.5% to 0.001% . Furthermore, the creation of a blood donation system based on voluntary blood donors contributes to achieving the scheduling of operations and treatments in hospitals, with the benefit of saving resources and the orderly operation of hospitals and the effective healing of patients.
The staff has been informed about the conditions that a volunteer blood donor must have in order to be able to donate blood, protecting both themselves and their fellow human beings who will receive the blood. They also know how simple and safe the blood donation process is, which takes only a few minutes, as well as the preparation they must do before and after the end of the procedure so that his body can recover immediately without straining.
The HR and HSE department of the company supported those employees who needed help in issuing a volunteer blood donor membership card with a separate individual registry number that they can use in case the need arises. Also, if an employee needs bottles of blood either for himself or for a member of his family, he can contact the HR office to undertake the process of sending the bottles to the hospital and for the patient who needs it.
Voluntary blood donation takes place at our company's facilities twice a year, in January and July, in an air-conditioned area of the factory in the presence of doctors and nurses from the blood donation service of the "AMALIA FLEMIΝG" Hospital
Our Association counts 40 voluntary blood donors, on a constant basis, in a total of 150 employees. Percentage of 27% of all employees is a very high participation rate, according to experience and information from the hospital's blood donation department.
