The last two years, our Company has been adopting and implementing the GREEK SUSTAINABILITY CODE, responding to the requirements of the 20 criteria and performance indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI standards) and publicizing its performance in the spectrum of governance, environment and society.
The Company has defined, monitors and publishes through the certified Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) performance indicators (KPI's) related to Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility.
In particular, indicators related to:
Environmental performance (Electricity consumption, natural gas consumption, drilling water consumption and quantity of materials recycled per ton of product produced), monthly. Concentration of suspended particles and total volatile organic compounds on a quarterly basis.
As the protection of the environment is a key concern of the Company, it has developed, and monitors performance indicators related to the production process and environmental management, and they concern:
SUPPLY OF RAW MATERIALS, e.g. emissions of gaseous pollutants during the production of raw material steel, emissions of gaseous pollutants from vehicles, final disposal of packaging materials, handling of toxic or dangerous substances.
PRODUCT PRODUCTION, e.g. emission of gaseous pollutants from the operation, waste water of personnel, rainwater, storage of raw materials, waste, solid waste from the activities of the personnel, emission of gaseous pollutants from vehicles, consumption of water and energy for the operation of the facility, production of environmental noise, etc.
TRANSPORTATION OF PRODUCTS, e.g. emissions from vehicles
USE OF PRODUCTS, e.g. consumption of natural resources
FINAL DISPOSAL, e.g. consumption of natural resources
The performance of the indicators is made public to the internal stakeholders of the company during the conduct of the quality meetings and to the external stakeholders (e.g. Competent Ministry and local audit authorities) by sending the results in hard copy, or electronically via a platform.
With the Company's performance in matters of Health and Safety at work (Accident Frequency Index which determines the Number of Accidents and Accident Severity Index which determines the number of days of work stoppage and near-miss index).
By the performance in quality criteria of final products (number of accepted complaints per sales volume, customer satisfaction).
All the above indicators are monitored on a quarterly basis during the quality meetings of the department managers and are redefined at the end of the year based on the annual performance of each indicator and in comparison, with the initially set target.
Our company implements the following information systems to monitor the progress of the performance indicators.
SAP system, which is a business software in the category of ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) that covers the functional areas: Financial Management (FI), Auditing (CO), Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Planning Production (PP), Project Management (PS), Facility Maintenance (PM), Quality Control (QM), Human Resource Management (HRM) etc.
Coswin 8i which is an Equipment & Facilities Management solution – CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Solution)/EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) that supports the improvement of the organization of maintenance processes as well as the performance of machines and facilities. All environmental indicators and those related to the health and safety of employees have been registered on this platform.
