Since the beginning of 2020, our country, Europe and the whole world are facing an unprecedented situation, due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The coronavirus pandemic has caused a global crisis that has directly affected and continues to affect the lives and activities of all of us. At the same time, it is also a national battle that requires maximum responsibility from every citizen to every organization. ElvalHalcor, immediately responding to the conditions shaped by the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, prioritized the health and safety of its human resources and partners, taking measures that at the same time ensured business continuity with the least possible impact, spending more than 3 million euros in the first nine months of 2020 to take protective measures to combat the pandemic. Since the beginning of the epidemiological crisis, ElvalHalcor has faithfully followed all the instructions and prevention measures recommended by the State and the competent bodies, while taking additional measures and initiatives to limit the spread of the virus. Initially, ElvalHalcor's Emergency Management teams were established, which have the sole responsibility for dealing with the coronavirus in the context of the operation of the aluminum rolling sector-Elval and the copper pipes sector-Halcor (and the subsidiary companies Fitco, Cablel Wires, Metallurgiki Epirou). The company crisis management manual was immediately revised, including all data related to the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, a detailed protocol for the prevention and treatment of suspected cases was drawn up and is constantly revised based on current developments and best practices.
