Description

Since the beginning of 2020, our country, Europe and the whole world are facing an unprecedented situation, due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The coronavirus pandemic has caused a global crisis that has directly affected and continues to affect the lives and activities of all of us. At the same time, it is also a national battle that requires maximum responsibility from every citizen to every organization. ElvalHalcor, immediately responding to the conditions shaped by the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, prioritized the health and safety of its human resources and partners, taking measures that at the same time ensured business continuity with the least possible impact, spending more than 3 million euros in the first nine months of 2020 to take protective measures to combat the pandemic. Since the beginning of the epidemiological crisis, ElvalHalcor has faithfully followed all the instructions and prevention measures recommended by the State and the competent bodies, while taking additional measures and initiatives to limit the spread of the virus. Initially, ElvalHalcor's Emergency Management teams were established, which have the sole responsibility for dealing with the coronavirus in the context of the operation of the aluminum rolling sector-Elval and the copper pipes sector-Halcor (and the subsidiary companies Fitco, Cablel Wires, Metallurgiki Epirou). The company crisis management manual was immediately revised, including all data related to the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, a detailed protocol for the prevention and treatment of suspected cases was drawn up and is constantly revised based on current developments and best practices. ElvalHalcor strongly supporting the global message "Stay Safe", immediately proceeded with a series of actions to limit the spread of the virus, such as: Improved employee workspace by implementing modified schedules to minimize commutes. Enable and maximize working from home (for office positions) while providing the necessary electronic equipment (eg supply of additional laptops). He proceeded to provide detailed information to all employees about the symptoms and spread of the virus, focusing on vulnerable groups, giving detailed instructions. He procured and made available the necessary protective equipment and training on the correct way to use it. He decided to stop all meetings (such as councils, etc.) and conduct them through teleconferences (teleconferences, etc.). Suspended all visits/business trips to and from ElvalHalcor except in special cases. She upgraded the clinic's equipment to provide the best possible care for her people. He proceeded to hire specialized nursing staff. Prepared and distributed to all employees, ΄΄Coronavirus Prevention Information Guide΄΄΄(https://www.halcor.com/userfiles/news/0.pdf), which is regularly revised according to current developments. He immediately instituted the temperature measurement of all those entering the Company's premises and immediate communication with the Company's Doctor in case of unwellness. At the same time, a special configuration of the exit was made with dividing lines in order to avoid synchronization during the departure of the shifts. A corresponding configuration was also made inside the factory area with a redesign of the shifts and thinning of the workplaces in order to observe the mandatory safety distances. It increased the number of personnel transport buses (the Company's facilities are located in Oinofyta) in order to achieve the transport of only 50% of the total capacity on each bus. At the same time, it offered the possibility to any employee who wishes, at his own risk, to use his private means of transport, making use of the fixed financial coverage (fuel and tolls) provided by the Company. Apply special care to workers who belong to vulnerable groups after consultation with the Occupational Physician. Procured and provides antiseptic solutions and disposable protective masks on a daily basis to all employees. Antiseptic solutions were also placed in gathering areas such as offices, meeting rooms, dining rooms, sanitary areas - changing rooms, toilets, buses. He issued special instructions to avoid overcrowding in public areas, e.g. kitchens, smoking areas, restaurants, changing rooms, timekeeping area at the entrance, etc. Implemented a strict restriction of visits by external partners and a strict control of the entry of visitors to the Gate - Concierge using a questionnaire. He granted parental leave due to school closures in accordance with current legislation as revised by the Authorities.
