Exemplary liquid waste management at DEYA Heraklion Crete:
The important and innovative element of the project is its complete form. That is, it is not a simple sewage disposal system, but a comprehensive effort that includes innovative and unique for the Greek data tertiary treatment technology (with filters and ultraviolet radiation), a system of sensors along the pipelines.

DEYAH Award in the Panhellenic competition of DEH with the theme: "Best Practices for Environmental Protection and Sustainability".
An award for its environmental practices, in terms of waste management and tertiary wastewater treatment, was awarded in 2013 to DEYA Heraklion, in the context of the annual DEH Environmental Awards for exemplary wastewater management.
The immediate results of the project are:
1. Irrigation of thousands of acres of vineyards, olive groves and other tree crops in rural areas of the Municipality of Heraklion that have minimal amounts of irrigation water.
2. Improving agricultural production and income.
3. Saving drinking water.
