Municipality of Crete established by Kallikrates Program. It resulted by the merger of pre-existing municipalities: Heraklion, Palianis, Temenos, New Bodrum and Gorgolaini.

KAIRÓS 'goal is to utilize the open spaces of the degraded area of Agia Triada, an area with a special cultural heritage, as a "meeting place-tool" for cooperation between local actors and "disadvantaged" social groups, in order to jointly transform the weakness of the region in an opportunity for integration and tourism development. The ultimate goal is to support the economic, social and cultural upgrading of this area by improving the quality of life of residents.
The residents, the businessmen, the institutions established in the area but also the potential residents and respectively businessmen who wish to settle in the area.
2019 - 2022, 30 months in total.
To design an innovative methodology of intervention and urban planning, which will help to address the problems of degradation of the specific area. The focus of the action is the upgrading of these areas, in order to address problems of social cohesion through the reintegration of the area into the operation of the city.
Stakeholders and citizens, in collaboration with expert experts, will work together to develop actions that will strengthen the economy of the selected area, promoting new business opportunities that will create sustainable jobs. This "connection" will be made in the open spaces of the area that brings together the appropriate features that match the purposes of the Program.
